A red and pink Desktop Calendar box

Hi Friends!

This is Snehal here to show you my first inspiration for the first month of the New Year which is an Easel style Desktop Calendar box.

Since the theme for Lulupu Challenge #8 is Love is in the Air, I chose to use the colors of love all the way...which are Red and Pink. As a part of the Lulupu Design team we all received fabulous papers, pollens, chipboard accents, brads, wood Veneers, MDF and lots more in a goodies bag. I have used maximum stuff from that bag on my project.

I am also sharing  a tutorial ( pictoral) for making this desktop calendar with a drawer box. Hope you enjoy this.

 Lets make the shell first

The drawer needs to be assembled the next

This is how the drawer fits into the box

The top of the box will have an easel shaped card like this.

Finally this is how the project looks after embellishing it

I used the gorgeous papers from XOXO Paper Pad 6"X6" 36/Sheets and to to embellish this box.I also used chipboard accents from K&Company Chipboard Chipbox Abrianna Icon 61/pkg
to beautify it.The dressform has been made prettier by sticking it to patterned paper from the same stash. The edges of the dress form are distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad from Ranger - Fired Brick
and so is the card front.
Since it is the beginning of the year, and what better gift than a calendar which shall stay with them on their work desk throughout the year;I thought of making an easel top Desktop calendar box.

Please do link up your Love themed projects  in Lulupu Challenge#8 for a chance to win  a fabulous Kaisercraft Stamp Set.

Supplies used from Lulupu.com

Thanks for passing by.
Hugs!

I had actually planned to make some like these to gift Kuttu's teachers but thought they would be too time consuming.Your tutorial has made it look so simple and doable!!Are the brads holding the Month papers in place?
