My Favourite Projects & Goodbye 2014

Hello friends,
I hope you are all enjoying the holiday season with your family and friends.
Kripa here, with the last post for 2014 on Lulupu.

Thank you Karuna for bringing me onboard your team of uber talented ladies earlier this year. I had just started scrapbooking and blogging. The trust you placed, made me push my boundaries just a little more and when I looked back today at my projects, I was more than just happy - for this I'm ever so grateful. My heartfelt thanks to each one of you readers - for visiting me and leaving me encouraging comments.

I found it very hard to select my favorites, after much deliberation I chose:

Grunge Mixed Media Card - Movie Challenge
Having worked mostly with pinks and teals this was my first attempt at grunge and the quote pretty much sums up my motto for scrapbooking. Don't be afraid to try something new, you never know that may just become your next go to technique/product.

I rarely ever use flowers on my layout. So with much self doubt, this layout was completed and published. The string of hearts became my favorite add on to a page.

My very first attempt at using watercolors, was super scared of using a brush and paint free style!

Waaaaay beyond my comfort zone - precision measurement and assembly. Whew! All the sweat and toil that went into this one - definitely deserves a place on this list.

I have made soooo many projects using Prima Coffee break papers and embelishments. Hands down my favorite collection this year and my favorite colour palette to work with - pinks, teals and yellow.

Its with a heavy heart I bid adieu to my team mates - Shilpa, Jaya, Deepti & Hussena. I have really loved working with you all and learned so much from each of your signature styles.  If not for your encouragement, support and kind comments, I don't think I would have experimented and tried so many techniques. Thank God for www and to keep us all connected.

I'm equally excited about continuing another term and working with the new team - very talented and varied in their styles. We have some exciting challenges up our sleeves, so stay tuned.

Before you all get busy with party preparations and the social networking sites get flooded with messages, let me take a quiet moment out to
Wish you and your family a wonderful, happy, healthy and prosperous New Year
See you all in 2015. Hugs

My favorite projects and a Goodbye!

Hello friends!
Jaya here today to share with you all my favorite projects for this year.
I have six of them. They all might not be the most beautiful ones but all of these are really close to my heart for some or the other reason so sharing them with you all.

Masculine mixed media layout

My first try at anything grungy and masculine at Lulupu. I had the time of my life creating this page. This was also my first ever try at making a video . You can check the original post here and the video link here.

You Are My Happy mini album

The love themed mini album. You can check the original post here. I have shared a video of the album as well and you can check it here.

Prima blog hop layout- " Celebrate Life"

This layout was created for our Prima blog hop. You can check the original post here

Vacation/ Travel based Mixed media layout

This was my first creation for Lulupu as a challenge host. I loved making this layout especially because it was a challenge for me too as i had to manage without any feminine elements ..any flowers etc. You can check the original post here

Mixed media canvas

Mixed media canvas created for the sketch challenge. I had posted two different versions of this on the original post . You can check them here.

Movie inspired Mixed media layout

A layout I created for the Movie inspiration challenge. You can check the original post here. I have also shared a pictorial tutorial.

And now is the time to say the final goodbye.
Its been a great and the most memorable journey here at Lulupu but alas it has to end.
December is my last moth at Lulupu and this being the last post:(
I will be active on my blog My Craft World and my Facebook page . Will love if you connect with me there.
Lulupu was the first blog whose challenges I entered around 3 years back and first one to take me a DT this year in April. Before joining Lulupu I had an on-off relationship with paper crafting but after this opportunity there was no stopping. I am really thankful to Karuna Chauhan for believing in me and giving me a chance to design for Lulupu. This blog gave me the wonderful opportunity to work with some really awesome and talented team of designers. I found not just the most talented ladies here but also the most wonderful friends one could ask for.
Thank you Karuna, Shilpa, Hussena,Deepti,Kripa for being there... always!

Thank you dear friends for always being so encouraging and appreciative of my work. Your comments did wonders!
Wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2015!

Favorite Memories and a Goodbye!

Hello friends,
This is Hussena here sharing with you my very last post as a design team member of the Lulupu team. As you all know by now, that this is the end of the term for all the current design team members as we make way for fresh, new talent and some incredibly talented crafters who will soon become a part of Lulupu in January. So, before saying goodbye, we all are sharing some of our cherished projects that we created as a part of the Lulu Poohs team. :D

My very first one has to be this Masculine card which I shared in September, 2014. it was a challenging one for me, as you'll know that I love doing mostly feminine cards with lots of flowers and embellishments. I had to think out of the box and really create something inspirational and I was pretty happy the way this turned out.

Creating a scene on a card can sometimes be very difficult, but this card makes me very happy and proud. :)

This layout has a lot of significance to me as this is not only my ever layout I have created in my 4 years of crafting, but this was specially made to preserve some of my very precious memories of my parents.

And, my current card which incorporates different textures. For the first time, I have used only store bought flowers for this entire card which has to be a very first for me! :D

If you have been with me so far, thank you very much for your patience. :-)
But before I end this post. I would like to add a few lines here . . .This entire year working with Karuna, Shilpa, Deepti, Kripa and Jaya has been very rewarding and motivating to me and I have made some really good friends here which I'm sure we're going to carry on as we move towards different directions, But as of now, I will always be thankful for the incredible support and encouragement that Karuna always gave to us whenever we shared any of our projects/concerns with her. We really gelled together as a team and it was mostly due to the tireless work that our team leader, Shilpa did behind the scenes..She has been such a rock in all our problems and we will all miss her dedication and kindness very much...Big hugs to all my teamies :)

Also thank you to all the followers and readers of the Lulupu blog who have dropped in from time to time and left us encouraging comments ..Your words meant a lot to me :) Hope you  all have enjoyed our inspirations as much as we have loved sharing it with you !
Take care and have a nice day everyone !

Guest Designer - Ankita Dey

Hello Everyone,
Shilpa here,
I am happy to introduce our Guest Designer of this fortnight
Ankita Dey from the blog Memories Handcrafted blog
Over to Ankita

Hi , Ankita here .I am a Marketing professional. I love crafting and experimenting with different mediums of art . I love to create things which are different and which would leave beautiful memories in someone's life . I love to handcraft memories. My projects are feelings expressed through art and craft .I am still in my learning phase and would love to share with you whatever I have learnt till now. Keep creating and Keep sharing the love of crafting. :)

Thanks to Karuna and Lulupu Team for this honor. This time I played along Lulupu Challenge #43- Inspired by Mood Board and made a Baby Girl Book which has 12 pages for each month .I had lot of fun creating it . I hope you will like it and do stop by my blog to leave some love (memorieshandcrafted.blogspot.in)

I tried to incorporate as many elements possible from the mood board which I’ll list down below later .

Let’s get to the process of making the cover of the chipboard album (I love the shape of the album).I covered the base with DCVW blossom pattern paper and gessoed the edges of the album to give it a nice finishing. I did the same for all the pages as well.

I have curled the edges of the photo mat and distressed the edges of the same .The birdcage has been embossed with bronze embossing powder.

For fillers I have used flowers from my stash. I have done the border with ranger pearl drops .

I have used lots of laces and ribbons in this project  on someone’s request .This was my first time experimenting with laces .

My inspirations from the mood board-

I have used loads of laces in my project which was inspired by the dress.

The beautiful  flower clusters in the mood board  inspired me to use flowers and butterflies and dragon flies to complement them.

My whole project revolves around pink and its different shades which is one of the main elements of the mood board.

I have tried to incorporate all the colors in the mood board .

I hope you like my Baby Book.
