Home Decor Monogram and a few Fond Memories!!!

Hello Everyone!

This is Manu here and it's finally that time of the year when I'm sharing my last post here as the Lulu-Pooh !! I'm sad, yet Happy for there will be amazingly new talent the next year to take this platform leap years ahead!! Lulupu has been a great platform for me and I have grown leap and bounds here with the truly talented design team members.
I hope you do remember our this months challenge, It's all about putting up pretty creations and adding much more to your home space.. and yes, the twist is to use the Washi tapes and Mod Podge!

I have made a super cute baby themed project using the Washi tapes and Mod Podge! I have a picture tutorial with it as well, so sit back and enjoy while reading how I make this pretty one!

Here's what I made!

I love love love that car themed Washi tape (No doubt I had to use it more than once *wink)

Lets checkout the procedure!!

Take the MDF monogram and gesso it all (you can see mine having a little color beneath, it was green that I had painted initially, but then opted out and gessoed it back again). Once the gesso dries, I painted it with a white acrylic color.

Since this was a boyish project, I took a blue based pattern paper and made the monogram alphabet copy.

Start adhering the Washi as per your choice. There's no start or stop area and you can applying Washi to the complete monogram if you wish to!! Cut out the small parts of washi peeping out with a cutter to have a clean look.

Here's my monogram, complete with the washi !!

Once I was satisfied, I had sand the edges of the complete monogram to remove excess papers on the edges and this also blends the paper with the MDF giving it a neat and clean look. Once done, apply a generous layer of Mod Podge!

Embellish as desired!! So far, this is one of the cutest baby project I have done!! This sure looks very pretty to be used as a Nursery Decor!

Here are a few more closer look at the washi tapes placemenets.
I hope you liked my take on this challenge and I must say that I'm super impressed with the Washi tapes(yes, I have not used them before) and I'm pretty sure that I'm stacking more of these pretties in the time to come!

And now comes the Farewell part.. Farewell's are always sad!! but then working with Karuna, Tanvi, Dolly, Kripa and Neha has been the best part of it. It has helped me grow as an artist and learn about soo much!! Thank you Karuna, for giving me an opportunity to work with Lulupu and also with some of the best talents in the industry. I remember the day I received the e-mail from you about the DT selection and I was jumping and thumping with joy!! This was a real booster for a  newbie like me and I'm sure that the new talent joining in will receive a great platform to grow and learn each day here!! I will be always active on my FB Page and Blog. Would love you guys to connect with me there!! Before signing off, Here are a few glimpses of my work that was showcased before!

Make a Mini: Memories themed album

Hello Everyone!!!

Good Morning everyone and this is Manu here !! I hope you are having fun with our current theme this month of making a mini album and we are looking forward to seeing your creations!!!! Incase you have not played along yet, do so by today for today is the end date to enter your creations in the challenge!
You can read all about the current month challenge here

A pretty memories themed album is what I have made to showcase 2 popular types of interactive elements in the albums, The waterfall element and the accordation fold. The albums also have more interactive pages and elements inside with lots of flaps and hidden pages!! Totally loved the pastel shades this album has!

Here's the glimpse of the album! I have kept it simple for the basic reason that I want the pictures to shine through the album on the whole!

Here's how to make the waterfall element. It looks pretty complex with all the tutorials listed on the web, but believe me, once you figure out how to make it, there's no looking back and it takes very little effort to make them then!

My waterfall element has space for 5 pics. Cut out 5 flaps of 4*4 inch size.  You would also need a long strip of paper. I had mine of the 1.5*14 inch measurement. Now take the long strip and score it at .75 intervals each.

This step needs to be done 5 times. so in the end you'll have the scoring at .75, 1.5, 2.25, 3 and 3.75 inches. Now take one of your 4*4 flap and attach it to the first .75 scored area. The second 4*4 flap to the second .75 are and repeat the process.
Once all the 5 flaps have been attached, fold the remaining piece of the long strip.

You would just need to put the brads in there for the strip of paper which holds the entire waterfall element and put a little glue on the last flap (the inner most) to hold it with the vertical strip of paper.

For the accordation fold, which again is quite easy peasy and one of the best way to entertain a number of pictures/messages on a single page!!! You would just need to score and fold in a zig zag way for any number of flaps you want in your accordation fold! (The left page in the pic below has the accordation fold)

Here are some more pictures of the album.

I hope you all liked the album and do join us in this months challenge here.

Make a Mini: Hinge Binded Love themed album

Hello Everyone!!!
Good Morning everyone and this is Manu here after a long long time!!! I hope you are having fun with our current theme this month of making a mini album and we are looking forward to seeing your creations!
You can read all about the current month challenge here

The First fortnight covers inspirations from DT's showcasing their take on the challenge and the second fortnight is all about how we can add interactive elements into our albums and make it more prettier and also this gives the tendency to utilize the album to the fullest in terms of adding more pictures and messages.
I have my inspiration for this challenge in this post and my second post about the interactive elements will follow soon. Here's what I made using the gorgeous papers I received in the DT Kit, American Crafts Valentine collection.

This makes the front of my album. This album is 7.5*5.5 inches and has 5 pages with interactive elements.

This comes as the first inside page and I wanted something catchy and eye popping here, hence decided to use some handmade dimensional flowers.

Here are a few other inside pages

I hope you all liked the album and do join us in this months challenge here.

Sparkle and Shine - CAS cards

Hello Everyone!!!

This is Manu here and I hope that this month is giving you all the more reasons to sparkle and shine!! Well, yes, this months its all about blingy and sparkly projects!!

Checkout the guidelines and more about this months theme here

Here's my take on the challenge and yes, I have make 2 new cards for this challenge!!
Lets check out what do I have in my kitty today

I have made two very simple cards and I have been trying my hands at CAS cards from sometime and Lulupu's projects are giving me a perfect opportunity to try these out!!!

I am always a go for the stripes pattern and when I opened up my DT kit from lulupu this time, I knew I had to use this stripe pattern paper, they make such a striking backgrounds!!!

There's a tip used in this cards which I had learnt while I was browsing the internet sometime back! I do not remember where exactly, but since I was working on a couple of projects that involved glitter alphabets, it was useful for me. Since, I was working with glitter Foam sheets and with time and usage, the glitter fells off the projects, using Glossy Accents or Mod Podge Dimensional magic works wonders and will never let the glitter fell off!! And that was one quite useful tip for me!!!

My other card is also a CAS card and you must have had guessed by now that I'm totally in love with the Altenew stamps!!! This stamp set is known as persian motifs and is such an adorable one!

After stamping the motif, I coloured it off using watercolors and then added glitter using wink of Stells, GOLD glitter pen along the edges! This gives a very subtle shine to your projects when you want then to shine ,yet being very sober in doing so.

I hope you all liked my cards and do not forget to join us in our this months challenge here. Do leave me some love if you liked these pretties!!

Happy Crafting!

My interpretation for this months challenge is Cards.
I'm love making cards these days and Lulupu's challenges gives me another bang on motivation to make something which is out of my forte!! None the less I love doing these!!

I have made 3 cards, all of which incorporate the challenge theme in a different way!

There's one among these cards which is inspired by an awesome card maker which I'll let you know shortly! It has my own little twist inside!

I recently owned this awesome Vintage Roses Altenew stamp and was so very eager to try this one out!!! Totally loved the layering process of this set!! Well, the flowers here are my very first try and I def need to improve on the layering process, but since this was my first try, I had to have the card with these pretties! This card has an embossed sentiment in gold and I have added some sequins to go along with the theme!

Here's a closer look at the card!!!

I totally love the simplicity in this card and love the sentiment, This pretty one is inspired by an awesome card maker, if you follow Kristina Werner, you'll be awestruck by her cards!! I added my own element(glitter) which makes this card very cute!!!

Here's a view of both the cards!! I love these ones!!

My last card is a very simple shaker one, I just die cutted the Pattern paper with a scallop die and added lots of flower shaped sequins inside to do that shake-shake part!!!

and yes, a glittered foam die cut makes it all the more lovable!!!

I hope you all liked my cards and do watch out this space all month long to be amazed by our DT team awesome Sparkle and shine creations!!!
Do link up your entries below and keep smiling and crafting all month long :)
