Lulupu Challenge #18 - Load it Up & Some News!

Heylo People!

Welcome to a brand new challenge at the Lulupu Blog! It's already the last quarter of the year, time really flies!

This fortnight we have a very interesting challenge for you :) But before that we have some updates.

Our dear DT Member Ruthie Lopez is bidding us goodbye, and we are so gonna miss her. Ruthie is a wonderful person and has been amazing during the last few months here with us. We enjoyed her beautiful creations for our monthly/fortnightly challenges all along and we hope you did too. I take this opportunity to wish her well on behalf of the entire team. But just because she won't be posting with us anymore doesn't mean it's a complete bye-bye. You can still see her wonderful work at her blog - My Hobby = My Art.

And with some Goodbyes we have some Hellos too! A big hoot hoot for our new DT Member Pooja Khupse who most of you know through her blog - Lightbox Creative Ideas and her Challenge blog - Beyond Grey Challenges. Let's get to know her a bit more what say?

Over to Pooja... :)

---------------

Hola  friends!!
This is Pooja , most of you may already know me as PJ from "Beyond Grey"
and those who don't well "Hi"!
I am from Maharashtra , India, but I'm currently living in London. I am married to an amazing man , who is the support system of my life. I was a teacher before I moved to UK, but here I am now, a full time crafter.

It was in 2010 that I started blogging through Lightbox Creative Ideas about what I craft and initially it had been about origami, painting, home decor with paper etc.
Soon I discovered the world of card making and I have been hooked to it ever since!
I enjoy making cards, my own paper flowers, altered crafts, etc.
My recent obsession is mixed media and everything shabby chic (with a Tilda stamp :D ).

I'm exited to be part of Lulupu's Design Team !! It was a nice surprise to be asked to be a part of this team. I love the work these girls do and to be a part of it just sounded so awesome ! I am here to add some of my magic into the team and I'm looking forward to the journey I am about to have with Lulupu :)

With that, I am very happy to announce this fortnight's challenge and of course,
present my inspiration for this it as well!
I love doing layers on my projects and its only good fortune that
I am presenting my 1st challenge inspiration for...

Challenge #18 - Load it Up!

Challenge #18 - Qualification Guidelines
{General Guidelines - here}

1.Create ANY project  (flat project, 2D projects like Cards, Tags, Bookmarks, LOs etc) that showcases a lot of layering on the Front of the project.

2. Your project must have 3 or more layers on the Front. The card base will not count as a layer.

3. Your Project must have 3 or more different embellishments
E.g., Ribbon, Button, Flowers are three different embellishments. Ribbons or flowers in three different colours will count as one embellishment.

4. In your post, please mention the three layers and the three different embellishments used.

5. Please note that boxes or other 3D Projects or CAS projects will NOT qualify for this challenge.

6. However, cards with special folds like Tri-Shutter, Accordion, etc. will be allowed, but your entry will be judged based on the OUTSIDE of the card (i.e., how the card looks when it is folded shut) and NOT THE INSIDE.

7. The Inlinkz for this challenge will close on October 15, 2013 at 11:55 PM IST

In short, we are looking for a full project LOADED with Layers & Embellishments.
Hence the name Load it Up!

Here is what the Winner gets along with a chance to be our next Guest DT!

And!!!
This gorgeous Over the Rainbow Ribbon!

Now for my inspiration!
When I heard about this challenge, I was thrilled!
I had some really new supplies to work with, and layering is simply my style! :)
So here is what I made..

I started of with my first layer as the dotted grey PP from a Dear Lizzy paper pad.
and layered my second Prima PP on top (that's peaking from underneath the clock)
Then came in a layer of doilies, on which I have the frame cut with a  Sizzix Framelits- Fancy Ovals Die.
The frame holds a stamped Magnolia - Tilda
I have some tickets , a film strip and a chipboard clock cut with Sizzix dies, all as fillers!

I colored her using some promarkers for the skin, and the rest is done with watercolor pencils.

I always like to go very random on flower arrangements. I find this refreshing!
I also used some seam binding in mushroom color to fill in the gaps in my spray.

The embellishments I added to my card were - flowers, Seam binding, pearls, tickets, cork star, a chipboard clock and a rhinestone.

I hope you got the basic idea of what we are looking for :)
I think this is a fun challenge to play with.
That's it from me today!
Cant wait to see what you all come up with!
Hugs
Poo!!
