September GD- Sathyakala

Hi everyone! Sindhura here.  Our GD this month is Sathya and she shares a gorgeous layout and step by step instructions about how she made it. It isn't the first time she is guest designing for us... I love all the mixed media projecrs she creates!

Over to her...

Hi Friends!

Its me SathyaKala, from Paperie Expressions. Am SO happy here today to be the Guest Designer at Lulupu. Did you see this month's Awesome moodboard, you are sure to blown away by the cute elements in it. Am SO in love with the elements, colors and the textures.

Have been doing Mixed media Canvases from last year and this Mixed media try today on a Layout is my ever first attempt. Am happy about the way, the very many elements fallen in place to compile this LO.

My take on Moodboard Inspiration :)

Let's get started with the process:
  • Took a 12x12 Prima pp from Tales of You and Me collection. One of my fave collection. It as such calls for some awesome Love themed projects!!!
  • I usually take a print out of the Moodboard inpsiration, just to get started as phone screen pics may not give me exact color to follow.  Here, i have used a 12x12 thick white cardstock for backing for my LO. Glued it with Tombow monoliquid glue and followed by that, is all the stenciling and sprays.
  • Have applied white Gesso centrally on the Patterned paper using Spatula, just to have a texturous base. You can use brush, foam anything as you wish. Gesso gives a tooth for the mists/sprays and it prevents them from soaking in the paper.
  • Then done stenciling in portions in and around the gessoed area using Prima Poppies stencil using Prima Modelling paste Opaque.
  • Once its dry, Started the series of mists one after the other after each layer is dried. Lindy's stamp gang sprays - Cocklebells Coral, Kissing KenicKie Coral, Glory of the Seas Gold are used.
  • Simple stamping is done around the texturous base, using Prima Brick stamp and Texture Stamp using Black archival ink.
  • Roughly arranged the elements just to check where it suits. My focal element is made using a White-Gold foil pp, Black-Gold foil pp, and frame diecut. All are mounted one on top of each other using foam adhesive on 2 doilies.
  • Misted cheesecloth is tucked randomly under the focal element.
  • Beige Crocheted Lace is ruffled and takes a corner position near the Focal element and above and around all other embellies placed.
  • Prima Floral vine, Prima Kraft Leaves, Prima Natural Hemp Twine, Prima Say it in crystals, Prima Resin Icons - LOVE and Memories, Prima Mini artstones, Prima Mulberry Mica flakes were used here.
  • Roses, Mini roses and clay pollens are added for bit interest in the floral vine.
  • Other than this, clock metal embellishment, White heat embossed florishes, clear droplets are used as accents here.
  • Timholtz chitchat word stickers - Kraft color is chosen and they are mounted using foam adhesive around the Focal elements.
  • Feathers from Mudra Dream catcher set. are white and gold heat embossed are added.
  • As a final touch, Heidi Swapp Black velvet splatters around the floral element.
Few closeup shots as Collage for you :)
