Dream big Art Journal - Step by step pictorial

Hello everyone... Irma here . This month Lulupu challenge#61 is Mini Album, you can made any style and shape but the final project must look like a booklet ..for any detail you can find the rule and submit your project here

For this time I would like to share with my 'Dream Big' Art journal mixmedia, I made with pictorial to hopefully will inspired you.

Here are the step by step a pictorial...let's started and enjoy !

Step 1

First glued an Alpha chipboard on your journal book

Step 2

 Cover with a heavy Gesso

Step 3

separation the upper layer from paper tissue

Step 4

tear off a paper tissue and glued randomly on your journal

 Step 5

 Cover again with a white heavy gesso

Step 6

 I add  ink spray from the edge and spray with  a little water

Step 7

 Do the same to another page

Step 8

 Dried with a heat gun

Step 9

 Stamp randomly with some of various stamps

Step 10

Colour a chipboard with inkagold

Step 11

I used a stencil and inka gold to make some layers

Step 12

 Take a piece of white cardstock and glue some paper tissue .  

Step 13

 I used a butterfly stamp from Kaisercraft

Step 14

 Stamp on the paper tissue 

Step 15

Fuzzy  cut the stamp of butterfly image and glue it on the journal

Step 16

 Make a line border with a sharpie pen..

Step 17

The least but not last I added splashes with ink spray colour red to give it bright look

Final Step....I added sequins.... :)

Mini Albums made easy!

Hello My Crafty Friends! :) 

I am Suchi here with you all! Today I am excited to share my very first Mini Album! I got these wonderful Julie Nutting Paper Dolls pattern papers and paper doll Ephemera die cuts in my DT kit, I had to try them out! :)

Here is my mini album! Hope you all are participating in this month's challenge! I know that making a mini album sounds like too much of work but once you begin, there is no going back. 

Today, I have made some easy peasy , not-so-time-consuming tricks for you to make an album! Hope this helps and inspires you all! :)

There are projects where you need a super fast glue that will dry quickly and stick strong! Aleene's Tacky Glue is one such glue that will definitely make layers and embellishments adhere firmly! :)

Masculine Layout / Picture Tutorial

It's Roshni here, and today I have a picture tutorial for a masculine layout using Papericious - Naturals  paper pad that I received in my DT kit. So let’s get started :) 

Step 1

I took a piece of white 12x12 thick cardstock and applied Gesso on the two sides where I was going to apply texture. Then using tim holtz mini stencil and sakura modelling paste  randomly applied texture on the sides.

Coasters with Washi Tape and Mod Podge - Tutorial

Hello dear readers!

How are you all doing? It’s the month of  festivities, Christmas is here and it’s time to decorate our houses and enjoy some family time! Our theme for this month is to ‘Deck up the halls’ and we would love to see how you would create stuff for decorating your homes. Remember, to use washi tape and mod podge to create your projects and win some awesome goodies from Lulupu!

Challenge # 56: Deck up your home

For my project this month, I was going crazy, since washi tape and mod podge is such a hit combination. There is so much you can do. I chose to make some easy coffee table coasters for inspiration.

I have used different washi tapes and some pattern paper to make these coasters. You would need some stiff cardstock (I wanted to try making these with tiles, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find them at the local store), some felt paper for the backing, washi tapes, and the all-time best– Mod Podge. Just follow the pictorial below and I am sure you will be itching to create some of your own. These are great as gifts to your family and friends too!

Use the washi tapes to cover the surface of the cardstock and add a thin coat of mod podge to seal them. As you can see, I have tried different patterns with the same washi tapes. You can also try to mix and match with different combinations of washi tapes. The felt paper is added to the back side of the coasters to help it make anti- slip!

I also tried using patterned paper for a couple of my coasters and I loved how they turned out. I followed the same process of adding the patterned paper on the cardstock followed by adding a coat of mod podge to give the final finish.

For this coaster, I wanted to make it Christmas themed, hence I used a red cardstock to cover the base and then heat embossed some snow flake. After letting it cool down for a few minutes, I added a thin coat of mod podge to coat the top. Doesn’t it look so cute!

Mini Album - Double pocket insert

Hi All!

This is Tanvi, with my second post for this month's theme - MAKE A MINI.

This fortnight the DT focuses on different inserts to maximize photo & journaling space in a mini album.

I have a tutorial on a pinspired double pocket belly insert, modified for a 6X6 page.

For this insert you begin with a 7 1/2X11" sheet. Score on the 11" side as shown in the picture.

Rotate it & score on the 7 1/2" side as shown. 

This is how the insert looks after folding. 

Distress all the folds & papers with Vintage photo DI to highlight the pockets. Adhere pattern papers. I have used Prima - The Archivist papers which I received in my DT kit. These are my all time fav papers after Coffee Break!

The double pocket insert is ready.

Adhere this using scor tape (on the 1" flaps) to a 6x6" page, this forms a belly band in which a large tag can be tucked in.

Challenge #51 - Anything but square and rectangle - tutorial

This month my interpretation with tutorial is a heart shaped mixed media card. A card is a perfect trial ground for practicing techniques, I hope those of you who haven't tried mixed media will give it a go after this.

1. Cut out the base of the card using cardstock and pattern paper that will be used to mat the inside and front of the card. All paper for this card is from Kaisercraft True Romance collection. Cutting the hearts with the Silhouette cameo was easy breezy. Distress the edges of the pattern paper hearts using Prima distress tool. Note: Don't ink the edges, the white edge will give the card a soft look.

 

Before adding any medium I usually arrange embellishments and take a photograph of what I want the card to look like. The final version of this card, looks nothing like this.

2. Randomly stamp Kaisercraft texture stamp with Versamark clear stamp pad and emboss with gold embossing powder. Go over the powder with a heat tool to set it.

3. Mix white sand texture and white embossing paste on a craft mat. Apply through a stencil and let it dry. You can speed up drying with a heat gun, but make sure you don't overheat or hold it too close and make the texture paste bubble. 

4. Time to add colour. Dilute Mr Hueys watercolour magenta onto a scrap plastic piece or palette and using a water brush apply paint little by little. Dry. Then add another wash, continue till you like the result. At this stage, the heart looked like this.

5. Stick the embellishments. Mix glass beads and glass glitter with matt multi medium or gel medium and apply randomly around the resin angel and the chipboard edges. Once it dries, add paints again if required. I added a few hints of green watercolor before adhering the title which was also designed and cut on the Silhouette Cameo.
