3D Baby Carriage With a Mini Tag Album

Good morning, friends!

This is Jasleen here, and I'm back with my inspiration project for this month's baby-themed challenge- Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. :)

I've made a 3D Baby Carriage along with a mini tag album using the lovely collection of 6 by 6  Papeicious patterned papers- Little Star. Here's how it looks :-

Do you want to know how I made this? Well, it's pretty easy and you do not require any dies to make this carriage. I'm sharing a picture tutorial to help you understand the making process. It's quite a long and picture-heavy post. So, I hope you enjoy ! :)

Step 1.

So I recycled this discarded cereal box to make it. Just cut it out flat with the help of a sharp pair of scissors.

Step 2:-

Then, I drew two circles, using the edge of a round utencil as a stencil. If you have a circle die, a  compass, you can definitely use that or just about anything circular. We need two circle cut outs which would make the sides of our baby buggy.

Step 3:-

This is what we need to have before assembling our buggy- two circles(mine were approximately 5 inches in diameter), four tiny circles(for making the wheels) and a long strip(measuring about 8 inches long and 2 inches wide)

Step 4:-

Cut out the same from the patterned papers as well, and keep in mind, we need four large circles from patterned paper, since we want the carriage to be covered with PP on the outside as well as on the inside. Stick the patterned paper on the inner side, do not stick the outer one yet. You will know the reason for this in the following steps. Stick your choice of PPs on the long strip and the four little circles as well.
 Cut out a quarter portion each from both the large circles, as shown in the pic.

Step 5 :-

Now, it's time to assemble the two circles together with the help of the strip. As you can see in the picture, I scored the long strip at about half an inch from both the sides, and made small horizontal cuts over both the edges, so that it curves and sticks over the circular edges with ease.

Step 6:-

After we are done sticking the strip along the two circles(It doesn't look very neat uptil this stage, but don't worry, that would be sorted )  stick the patterned paper on the outer sides.

Step 7:-

Now it's time to make the fan-shaped 'roof' of the buggy. For this, I used a 6 inches length and 2.5 inches width  of patterned paper and scored at 0.5 inches along the width. I think the above picture gives you an idea.
We need two of these for the two sides of the buggy.

Step 8 :-

Now, stick the four smaller circles to make the wheels. Embellish the little carriage with your favorite trinkets. I embellished it with laces, ribbons, bows, pearls and a wooden star embellishment. :)

Sharing a few pictures of the mini album it holds :-

 This tag album was made with the help of  die-cut cards by Simple stories-Hello baby and Papericious 6 by 6 paper pad- Little Star from the store.

I've added a shaker element with colorful sequins on each tag and there's a pocket behind each die-cut card to insert a photo. I liked keeping my embellishments to a minimum for this mini album. That cute baby footprints Washi tape is also from the Lulupu store. There are some lovely designs of washi available HERE.

Challenge #61 | Mini Albums

Hello and Good Morning, friends!

This is Jasleen and I'm here to announce a new challenge for the month of May. But before that, let me take this opportunity to thank all of you who participated in our April Mood Board Challenge. So, the theme for this month's challenge is:

CHALLENGE #61

MINI ALBUMS

Yeah, get those pretty pattern papers out and show us how you rock this theme. ;)
(Read the General Guidelines for the challenges, here.)

The Rules for Challenge #61 are:

1. Album can be any shape (square, rectangle, triangle, alphabet, circular, etc.) or size (4x4, 6,x6, 8x8, 12x12, etc.)

2. The completed project should look like an album/booklet. You can:

   a. Use box files with rings and insert page protectors,

   b. Punch holes in your pages and use album rings,

   c. Bind the pages together using any handmade or machine made binding.

   d. Any other method to put pages together.

BUT loose individual pages will NOT BE CONSIDERED as an album. The final project must look like a booklet.

3. An album needs a minimum of 5 pages (or 4 + cover decoration.)

4. It can be an interactive (with inserts, folds, etc.) album or a plain flip-album.

5. Only pasting pictures and binding pages will NOT BE CONSIDERED. Pages need to be embellished.

6. Photos in the album (if personal) can be blurred. But blank pages stating that photos will be added later, will NOT BE CONSIDERED. However, photo mats with other embellishment(s) will be okay.

7. There's NO SPECIFIC THEME for decoration or colour(s). You can pick whatever you like. :)

The album I made measures 5 by 6 inches in size. I have used the gorgeous Ephemera papers by Papericious for making this one. These papers are just perfect if you like to make romantic , shabby chic styled albums with lot of flowers.

This album has total of 5 pages, and I've added a tag or two or an interactive flip page for adding photos on every page.

Mood Board Inspired Scrapbook LO

As you all might be aware of the April's Challenge #60- Inspired by Moodboard and I'm sure you all must have enjoyed the DT work shared so far. So today it's my turn to share what I made inspired by the colourful mood board.

I came up with a school-themed scrapbook layout using the amazing Insta-squares from Simple Stories-- Back to school. I was inspired by the colours, the black label with white text, the polka dots and the chevron pattern.

Cards showcasing 'We R Memory Keepers' Embossing Strips

Jasleen here today and I hope you are enjoying this month's Mood Board challenge and the DT inspiration work shared so far. :)

Today I'll be sharing three cards showcasing True Stories embossing strips by 'We R memory Keepers.'

For starters, these embossing strips are 2 by 6 inches sized little embossing folders that help to add texture and dimension to the paper craft projects, such as greeting cards, scrapbook pages, tags or photo albums. One pack includes six different designs of these strips and they can be used with any brand of die-cutting or embossing machines.

Here's my first card where I used the 'Celebrate' embossing strip :

I have a scrapbook layout to share with you all, featuring the gorgeous Papericious pattern papers- Often Collection, that I recieved in my DT kit. The trendy designs and vibrant colours of the papers from 'Often' collection make it a perfect choice of papers for making cute and trendy layouts. :)

 

 

I followed the second row-R2-- Balloons, papers, washi and banners. 

 

 

Sharing the step-by-step making process below :-

 

 

 

1.Firstly, I  decided which picture I wished to scrap about and the papers I wanted to use.

 

2. On a 12 by 12 sheet of sturdy card stock, I decided where I wanted the main picture to be, and  stamped multiple number of  'Happy Day' sentiments from Altenew Hennah Elements stamp set accordingly,  as shown above.

3. Then I sprinkled some Lindys' magical micas powder- Bubbly  over the stamped area and sprinkled some water droplets over it. That gave me a beautiful peachy and shimmery watercoloured effect.

 

3. Then I wound around a silver thread to make a rough circle . This step took the longest. It was quite difficult to hold the silver thread in place due to its stiffness. That's where my daughter came to my rescue ;) I asked her to hold it at one side while I stick the other side down, using some tacky tape.  :)

 

 

4. Now came the most challenging part (for me atleast :P) and that is, embellishing. I started off by matting the main picture with some layers of  patterned papers and adhereing it down. I die cut a few circles to serve as balloons with the twines, wooden buttons, added the handmade felt bow, made some banners out of the same patterned papers and stuck it in the corner, washi tape, added some suitable die cuts received with the Papericious papers., some butterflies ,enamel dots and sequins. 5. Sprinkled some Lindy's magical micas powder on the right hand side as well, and splattered some navy blue coloured ink droplets here and there.

You know what's the best thing about making a scrapbook layout? Well, they say crafting has no rules and one thing that completely holds true to this adage is creating a scrapbook LO. There are still some guidelines for different styles of crafting, but when it comes to scrapbook layouts, I think it's more of a liberal sort, we are free to follow any design, any embellishment, we can stick to one colour scheme or we can choose to go wild with the colours, the choice is entirely ours. And this  creative freedom is what makes it more enjoyable :) Don't you think?

Mod Podge Photo Transfer on Canvas | Video

Today, I'm sharing a canvas wall art that I made using Mod Podge Picture Transfer Medium . I decided to use a Laser printout of one of my favorite pictures of my daughter.

Mod Podge picture transfer medium, as the name suggests, is used for transferring any photo over canvas, wood, ceramic or fabric. But the photo needs to be a Laser printout or a photocopy. It gives amazing and predictable results/ The only thing you need to keep in mind is the time- it needs to be kept undisturbed for 24 hours after it's application to get desired results.

Altenew Hennah Elements | One Stamp Set, Many Ways

Hey, Friends !

Hope you all are doing great.

This is Jasleen here and today I'm going to share a few cards and other stuff I made using the gorgeous Altenew Hennah Elements stamp set I received in my DT kit. This stamp set is undoubtedly one of my favorite stamp sets of all time. Very versatile and such beautiful images.

Here's the first card:-

For making this one, I stamped the floral images all over the card base to make the background. Stamped the same floral images on a piece of watercolour paper, coloured those flowers using the Faber Castel connector pens that were gifted to me by my friend Vijaylaxmi Siyal. I loved the results. Then those floral images were fuzzy cut to be later embellished over the vellum-covered card base. I love the how vellum gives a softening effect to the background, so that the main floral images pop beautfully. :)  Finally, stamped the sentiment and added the Sequins. Lulupu has a beautiful collection of sequins. You can find them HERE.

Now, onto my second card:-

I started off by sticking a patterned paper from the gorgeous Papercicious 6 by 6 paper pad- Often collection, over the card base. Then cut out a piece of black cardstock at an angle, as shown. Stamped the beautiful lace border and the 'congrats' sentiment from the Altenew stamp set in versamark ink and white embossed it using white Ranger's Embossing powder and heat tool. Stamped the floral images from the Altenew- Hennah elements stamp set on a piece of scratch card stock, coloured it using distress inks , fuzzy cut them and mounted them over the card using 3d foam tape. I love how lovely they look against the polka dots patterned paper.

Here's my third card :-

For this one,I stamped the flowers in the corners of the card base using Altenew ink in coral pink colour and sponged the corners lightly in the same colour of the ink after masking off the flowers. Then I stamped and silver embossed the flowers over a piece of vellum and coloured them using Faber Castel connector pens. I used the Lindy's silver embossing powder here. Then, I fuzzy cut the vellum flowers and mounted them over the card base using Ranger's glossy accents(it acts as a perfect adhesive for sticking transparent/translucent elements) Stamped the sentiment and finally finished off with a few pearls and sequins.


Also, made these simple tags using this versatile stamp set :-

And last but not the least--

A pillow box made using patterned paper from the Papericious -Often collection and embellished with flowers from the Altenew set and washi tapes from the Lulupu store.

I hope I've inspired you to try out different ways to stretch your stamps. And when the stamps are as gorgeous as Altenew hennah elements, the ideas come quick and easy. :)

Challenge #58: Hearts And Arrows + Tutorial

Challenge # 58

Hearts & Arrows

Read the general guidelines for the challenges here

Specific rules for this challenge are:

1. Create a card, layout or a 3D project.

2. Use hearts AND arrows(both) in your project, in ADDITION TO any other embellishments you wish to use. The hearts and arrows could either be from a patterned paper, stamped, die-cuts, stickers, hand drawn, wood veneer or sew on your project- just anything. But make sure hearts and arrows are visible.

3. Try and use colours OTHER THAN RED & PINK. Though RED & PINK ARE ALLOWED, we'd like to see how you get creative with the colours.

4. Last date for the submission of the entries is 29^th of February, 2016, 11:55 P.M. IST

Here’s what I've come up with, for this month’s challenge . Since this is the month of Love, I dedicate this to my love for crafting.



I got these fabulous patterned papers from Kaisercraft- Needle and thread in my DT kit . So, I made this double flip-box using these papers. All the floral cut-outs, those spool images, labels are from this collection itself.

I think the Kaisercraft- needle and thread collection of patterned papers are just perfect for making these kind of keepsake boxes for storing those little crafty trinkets, sewing stuff like spools, yarn,etc . Ofcourse  the store-bought plastic containers also do this job pretty well, but then we are crafty people, if something's not done creatively, it's a job half done, isn't it?  ;)
