Hello everyone!

We are happy to have Pooja from Reusing, Cards and Quilling to join us for a fabulous Guest DT post today. Keeping up with the them of challenge 20 - Tag it All Pooja today is sharing some gorgeous tags she made for a diwali along with a quick pictorial!!

Over to Pooja...

Hello friends, Before I share something about me I would like to thank Lulupu team for giving  me this opportunity to be Guest Designer for current challenge.

I am a software engineer from Maharashtra and have worked for a leading MNC. Right now I am a SAHD (Stay at Home Daughter  :D ) and an Android developer. I also hold a bachelors degree in Mass Communication. I have been crafting since childhood and being academic achiever meant hobbies always came after studies, it’s still the same. I always tried to use the stuff lying around the house and make something useful out of it. This has stayed with me till now. When I came across paper quilling on net I was so fascinated by it that I started following the blogs n eventually started my own blog a year back. As I am fond of reusing and making cards hence named the blog “Reusing, Cards and Quilling”. My crafting has improved a lot since then thanks to various bloggers and challenge blogs, Lulupu being one of them. I got to learn about  new techniques, products, styles of card making. Still learning and trying to improve.

Now on to my contribution. As you all know lulupu team has challenged us to make festive tag/tags with some glitter, bling or shimmer on them. I made two Diwali themed tags. First one is quiet loaded with lots of detailing.

When I think of Diwali things that comes to my mind first are toran, rangoli n diyas.(may be bcoz these are my responsibilities :D !!) .I made toran by cutting leaves out of green chart paper and adding fringed flowers to resemble marigold flowers. The rangoli is made of actual rangoli powder( reminded of schools day  na ?)Drew small diyas on scrap paper n fussy cut them. I glued a golden thread and added bling to it to resemble lighting .

When you open the door a small pop-up wishes’ you Happy Diwali !

I have reused brand tag for making this tag as its very sturdy. Covered it with card-stock and then created texture on it with layers of tissue. Made a door and added a pop –up inside it.

Second one is a shaker lantern tag. I have used card-stock to cut the shape. Then glued glassine paper on them and added sequins between them, attached one more flap to write the wishes!  The strips at bottom look uneven but they are not, I had hard time keeping them straight  ;)!

I have glued glitter paper strip to make it look more festive. I hope you liked my tags !

Wishing you all had a pollution free Diwali full of lights & sweets!!

Word Play Note Cards!!

Hello Crafters!!

It's been a while since I posted here, but I haven't been slacking off. I have been giving my hand some rest. But, I couldn't resist playing along with the Word Play Challenge and I was super excited about it since the time I suggested this theme. So there was no way I wanted to miss this! :) Also, as we have to make CAS cards for this challenge, it only made things easier for me..

And as usual, I got carried away and made FIVE cute little note cards. ;)

When I think of Word Play, I think of Lawn Fawn Stamps. Every Stamp Set has co-ordinating sentiments and images and for this challenge, I used the Love 'n Breakfast Set (I got three cards out of this set), Vintage Rides by The Craft's Meow as well because it had some really cool stamps and another card from the Raccoon2Love Stamp Set by The Stamps of Life.

I won't be typing much because right now, it's a little difficult.. So I'll just show you the cards. As usual, the list of products used for these cards is at the end of the post! :)

Guest Designer - Indira Tanwar

Hello!

Guess who we have as our DT this time? Its Indira!!

Coincidentally had both the Guest Designer from our last DT team this month ; ) First Ujjwal and then Indira!

And the amazing part is Indira is sharing not 1 , not 2 but 3 awesome inspirational cards for Lulupu Challenge#19 - Word Play!

Over to Indira.....

Hi folks! My name is Indira Tanwar and I am an art fanatic. I live in Mumbai (India) with my husband. I am a Knowledge Management professional at an IT MNC. Many of you might know me as a past DT of Lulupu.
I enjoy and admiring all forms of arts and crafts. I like to recycle stuff and make use of the stuff lying around the house. I love to try out new techniques, be it trying new card folds  or new tools, etc. I have learnt a lot from being a part of the blog world and each day I continue to get inspiration from the lovely and talented crafters around me.
And here are my 3 cards to inspire you for this fortnights challenge at Lulupu blog.

I really love making CAS cards but sometimes get drifted away by new tools and techniques. This challenge set by Lulupu team gave me the opportunity to get back to this style and try out some fun CAS cards. Sometimes the problem with CAS cards is that you don't have the right stamps or craft supplies to convert your imagination into art.

I faced this challenge while making these cards. I thought of some sentiments to fit this challenge, and when I looked around, I did not have the required stamps, etc. So I decided to hand draw my cards. A little doodling here and there and you are all set. I got so carried away with the idea that I ended up making 3 cards. I guess that makes enough food for thought for you :)
My cards measure 4x4 inches. I have used distress inks to color them.  I have also used stickles from Lulupu store to add some bling to them.
Happy Crafting and I hope you like my inspiration.
Cheers,
Indira

Have a WHALE of a time...

A super good morning to all you beautiful crafters out there!

I'm here with my inspiration for the current challenge #19 - word play.. This one is so so cute and for once we're doing CAS.. psssst- its not my style, but hey I'm open to trying everything! ;o)

Before I forget, here's a quick reminder about our Share and Win contest on Facebook running until 31st October,2013. All you need to do is click HERE to visit our Facebook Page, like our page and share this picture on your timeline (as public) and then mention"Done" as a comment. Simple! :)

Here is my card

I recently went to mom's place and boy did i have fun! It was just awesome! Hence my sentiment comes from that fun trip of mine!! :)

I had a "Whale" of a time!!

To create the waves I tore up a few pieces of paper at random. Using my chipped sapphire and tumbled glass inks I made the waves at sea! :)

The whale is a memory box die that I've coloured using my koi waterbrush and the chipped sapphire ink. A lil googly eye and the whale was ready :)

The sentiment is hand written :)

Thats all from me today.. Do check out the gorgeous new stuff at lulupu and also for the product reviews coming up soon! :)
