Hello, everyone!
Nikita here and I am back to show you something exciting! The whole crafting community has been buzzing with Simple Stories' new planner collection - the Carpe Diem Planners - and I am excited to announce that the planners and its accessories are now available at Lulupu. So if you've been thinking of buying them, do check the link out. :D
I've been waiting to share my planner and how I've personalised it and I am so, so, glad that I am finally going to be able to do so. In the video below, I will show you how I've added my name, decorated the weekly pages, what stickers and other à la carte items I'm using. I will also show you how I'm using tiny little otherwise-going-unnoticed stamps from my regular stamp sets, as planner stamps.
If you want to see what the insides of a brand new planner look like, watch the official video by Simple Stories by Clicking Here (it will open in a new window) and take a look at all the accessories by Clicking Here.
And now, time for some pictures! Sorry, a LOT of pictures. :)
In the pockets on the left, I have inserted some cards cut out of 6x6 and 12x12 PPs from other Simple Stories' Collections like I AM and I Heart Summer. I have also used some Carpe Diem Paper Clips.
In the Secretarial Pocket, I have decided to store one each of all 4 types of Calendar Stickers, Icon Stickers and Word Labels Stickers.
The tags have been cut out from Crate Paper's Flea Market Collection.
I haven't made any changes to the dashboard yet, though I plan to use another patterned paper underneath the acetate. I also plan to keep changing it every month just to keep things fresh :)
I love how colourful the monthly tabs are!
As for the pen, I was initially using a black Pilot pen. When the ink ran out (it was an old pen) I switched to Uniball and I found it to be too dark. So I'm now using a black Mitsubishi ball pen.
It's a light black and I love it.
To personalise this page, I have used stickers from Simple Stories' I AM 12x12 Collection.
I'm using the next few pages - which were supposed to be used to record Contact details - to record my goals for 2016.
To decorate this, I've used stickers and die cuts from both, I AM and Carpe Diem Collections.
The page on the left originally only had the teal stripes.
I added the other stuff to spruce it up a bit ;)
I wanted to use Carpe Diem Number Stickers on this, but they're out of stock!
So I had to improvise. I used stickers from various Echo Park Collections that I have and from the sticker sheet in the I AM Collection.
In hindsight, I wish I had just written them by hand, because as whimsical as it looks, I think I've made a real mess in there and I am not happy.
For February (and all the months after that, till I get my number stickers) I am going to use a solid round circle stamp (I have a few of those as you must've seen in the video) and write the numbers on them with a pen, which is basically what the number stickers look like. :)
I had to use some Carpe Diem Insta Quote Stickers to hide the hideousness created by the number stickers I used. :P
WEEK 1
I was just getting the hang of using a planner. So I kept it simple.
I added the Calendar icon stickers while I was planning,
but the other stickers were added once I knew for sure that I wouldn't be using the rest of the space.
I have used a small solid circle stamp and stamped it with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to keep track of my water intake.
As for the divider, that is also a stamp inked with Fossilized Amber Distress Ink.
And I am happy to say that the ink does not bleed into the next page :)
WEEK 2
In this week, I made a few changes.
For one, I used a date stamp that came with my Smash Book and inked it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I also drew checkboxes by hand to I could tick tasks off my list when I completed them.
WEEK 3
Here, with a little more experience and ideas, I decided to use a tiny heart stamp from Lawn Fawn's Love n Breakfast stamp set and make heart shaped check boxes.
I used Memento Dew Drops ink pads in Pear Tart, Cantaloupe and Angel Pink for the hearts.
The star is for me to record that day's photo-a-day prompt and it's a stamp from Lawn Fawn's Plus One stamp set. I have stamped it using Memento's Pear Tart.
As you can see, the darker ink is the Uniball and I thought it was too dark, so I switched to a ball pen.
WEEK 4
Here, you can see that I have used paper clips, a magnetic bookmark and a plastic bookmark, in addition to a lot of stickers and even a sticky note from the Sticky Note Bookmark.
To make the checkboxes for this week, I have used a small solid square and used the colours Tangelo, Cantaloupe and Lulu Lavendar.
That's all I have for you today. I'll be back next month with my inspiration for February's challenge.
Till then, you can get all yiour planner supplies here.
Happy Crafting & Happy Plannning!
