I have for you today a fun and a super easy technique. Its called the Smackin Acetate technique.
Smackin Acetate is a super easy and fun technique. It is a great technique to create colorful background that works exceptionally well for silhouette stamps. This
technique is usually done using a piece of acetate that you can purchase from your
regular stationary store. However, there is no need to run out and purchase
acetate when there are plenty of other options in your home right now. You can
use the plastic sheet that usually stamps come covered with, paper cutting mat or your 6x6 acrylic
block, like I did.
TUTORIAL
Step 1
You will need markers, spray bottle with water and an acrylic block
Step 2
Now randomly scribble with the markers on your acrylic block. I chose shades of blue to begin with. Make sure you use the smooth side of the block.
Step 4
Now place your card stock on the block like shown in the image and gently rub your fingers on it to make sure the color is evenly spread on the paper.
I also stamped and cut out the little flowers from the same stamp set
I colored the flowers with orange markers and stuck them on to the tag. The sentiment too is from the Happy Thoughts - CPM 053 stamp set.
And Voila! There you have it.. Wasn't that FUN?!
Also, if you dont wanna use markers, try the same technique with distress inks! They work awesome too!!
