Create a Doodle Tag/Book Mark with Distress Inks

Hello friends! Yes! I'm back again with a video today. Well.. I made a tag with doodling and I water colored them with distress inks.. I just really love how the tag/book mark turned out. Hope you'll like it too:)

I haven't explained anything in the video cos it's a very simple one to make.. And all the supplies are listed below.. All you have to do is just sit, sip, relax, watch and enjoy.. :)

Home Sweet Home.. a 3D project..

Hello friends! This is Deepti here with a 3D project today hosted by Shilpa. I'm a CAS lover and I usually make and share cards but this time I've tried something new and different. This is my first perfect 3D project ever and I love how it turned out..Yay!

Everything was hand drawn and hand cut.. The tree and the landscape was done using 'cotton'.. Colored them with water colors.. Those tiny flowers were stamped and colored using markers..

Tutorial - Mixed Media with Prima Chalk Edgers

Hello Beautiful Crafters,

Today, I am here with Product Inspiration.

I have created a Mixed Media Canvas with New Prima Chalk Edgers (CE).

Prima has brought 2 types of Chalk edgers - Fluid (light blue cap)and Resist (grey cap)

Fluid are water soluble and Resist are archival inks

Let see the pictorial tutorial of my Mixed Media..

My chipboard base and embellishments are pre- gessoed.

I stamped the scrip background randomly on the surface with 'Farmer Jeans' CE

With Harlequin stencil and Knotted Wood CE I created one layer.

Next layer is added with Wendy's Embossing paste and Rhapsody stencil.

I  got 3-4 colors on the Acrylic block from Blue and Green CE. With my water brush I picked up the colors and applied on textured area.

Next step is to make embellishments. I stamped the flowers with 'Blossom Bud' Resist CE and colored them with 'Hydrangea ' CE and water. I fuzzy cut them, layered and distressed at the edges.

With same method I made my leaves.

Colored the Gate and Lamp post chipboard with 'Turquoise Stone' and 'Cold Ice' CE. To spread the color evenly I used baby wipe.

And when I put together all this, .....

So...you can do so many things with Chalk edgers.

1. Make background

2. Apply with stencils.

3. Use as watercolors.

4. Do stamping.

5.Color Chipboard embellishments.

6. Color wood Veeners

7. Use as embossing resist.

8. Distress edges.

9. Mix them with embossing paste to get colored texture.

10. Do multicolored stamping with Big stamps

And most important Chalk edgers are Ergonomic and  Economical.

Hello paper lovers,

Kripa here wishing you all a good morning from cold and frosty Sydney. Yes, friends it's winter here in my part of the world , can't wait for warmer weather. Before we go to my project, here is a recap of the current challenge.

To keep my spirits up until it gets warmer here, I decided to make a project that reminds me of summer..... a Hot Air Balloon. A bit of Google search and I found a suitable template on this blog. For someone like me who is almost incapable of measuring right, the Martha Stewart scoring board is a saviour!

The bottom opens up into a box and now holds my precious collection of wood veneer. We are waiting to see what you all linkup with this challenge.

3D Challenge with Mixed media Easter eggs!

Hi friends!

This is Jaya here with todays inspiration project  for the 3D challenge at Lulupu.

This time around we want to see your 3D projects. Grab anything in your sight and alter it or create something new that you wish to..a shadow box, decorative items as jars and wishing well, birdhouses.
You are only limited to your imagination!

Today I have some mixed media decorative eggs for you as inspiration for the current challenge. Yes eggs!

I used some carefully broken egg shells as my moulds here. some leftover plaster from house renovation work. some old buttons, thread, tissue, lace, silicon beads etc.
I started with pouring my plaster mixture into the egg shell mould and let it dry for around 2 days. I did this to harden the shells. you have a choice to remove the shells or leave them as such once the plaster is dry.

Then comes up wrapping with tissue to give texture. Did some stencilling with texture paste as well. Used my favourite Lindy's sprays to give the colour. Applied some crackle paint glossy accents. Finally a liberal coat of mod podge.

Hope you liked the project and were inspired enough to think (a little) out of the box! We will love to see what projects you come up with. Give up inhibitions to try something new and unique and never stop yourself from outdoing 'you'!
