Lulupu Challenge #42 - Gift Set for Festivals, 'A Purse Bag + Tag'

Hello everyone! This is Deepti and today is my turn to share my inspiration with you all. 
The current challenge here at Lulupu is to make


Here the gift set means 'Card with matching box, gift bags with tags, Easel card and box, Altered notebook/matching stationary and etc'. You can think out of the box and can come with something new! We always encourage new ideas and thoughts. So guys come up with something fantastic!! ;)

Well.. I'm here with a 'Purse Gift Bag and a Tag'..


When the challenge was first announced to us I was thinking to make a project not related to CAS type of cards. As you guys already know that I'm a BIG fan of CAS designs so I decided not to make a card this time but come up with something different! Yay! I did it..  but....this project looks SO CAS! Lol ;)


Anyway! I took a piece of cardstock, scored and folded it in to a purse shape. I'm so sorry for not providing you the measurements. I'm very lazy in taking measurements and etc, just eye balled everything and done the way I wanted.. ;) I used pattern papers from different companies and I'm sorry I  don't recall the names of the companies.. But I love these bright and happy papers. I always love to make happy and cheerful projects.. :)

I used a brad to hold the flap. And I wanted to have the tag to look different. So I adhered a pattern paper and punched on all the four corners with a hole punch. I didn't want to add anything on the tag as the tag itself looks so busy already!

This is how it looks when  opened. I made two pockets and I stuck a few tags.. I doodled hearts and lines on the tag. Adhered few sticker icons on the pockets. :)

Winner for Challenge #41

Hello dear friends,

Kripa here with the winners for Challenge #41 - Child's Play.

We were quite disappointed that a few entries could not be considered as they didn't meet the Lulupu challenge guidelines. We eagerly look forward to seeing your creations and love the fact that you too share our passion for crafting. So, it breaks our hearts when we are unable to consider an entry for a prize because of not following a few simple guidelines.

Challenge #42 - A gift for festivals : Made with Love

Hello my dear friends,

Kripa here to reveal the next challenge at Lulupu.
With sweet memories of Deepavali and preparations for Christmas and New Year in mind, we have a special challenge for you all this month

Challenge #42
A gift set for festivals
(like New Year e.g.- Card with matching box, gift bags with tags, Easel card and box, Altered notebook/matching stationary)

And as always we have a prize too

 
I altered a notebook into a planner to give as a New Year gift for a very special person.
The original book had plain black covers. I pulled apart the ring, took off the pages and put it back together with 4 dividers in place. The front and back cover have also been altered. The photographs below are only of the dividers without the blank pages in between, so that its easier to capture both front and back of each divider.

Along with the book, included are a dozen journaling cards, a handful of embellishments, washi tape and a gel pen.
 Some of the inside pages have intentionally been left blank, so she can alter them the way she wants.
 The pages have been given a light coat of clear gesso so they can be painted on easily and the colour won't soak through.

Guest Designer - Dolly

Hello friends! this is Deepti here and I wish you all the little children a very happy Children's Day! Well.. Today I'm so happy to introduce Dolly as our guest designer. Welcome!! She was the winner of our last previous challenge, she is an amazing girl with lots of trendy thoughts. A little about her!


Hey Everyone!
I am Dolly from Dolls Arts and I have been invited by the Lulupu team for this GDT post. Thanks a lot Lulupu for this lovely opportunity which will always be close to my heart since it’s my first GDT post.
A little bit about me: I am from the orange city of India – Nagpur and have stayed in Bangalore and Mumbai for quite some time. Currently, I am working with a Pharma company in the City of pearls- Hyderabad for more than two years. 
For as long as I can remember, I was into paper crafting – Be it creating science projects in school or playing with my mom’s sewing machine to create patterns for cards. I got hooked line and sinker into card making when I moved to Hyderabad. I also love making candles and glass paintings.

For this post the theme is Children’s Day and the card I have created will be a joy for any kid to play with. So hop on and check out the project! 

This post is a very special one for me, any guesses why? :) I have been invited to guest design for Lulupu.com - India's favourite Online Paper Craft Supplies Store. 
And, this is my very first guest design! Cheers to many more to come :)
The project which I will be sharing with you is an interactive card (Video Tutorial: Pinwheel Spinner Card) for the occasion of Children's Day. Any kid would love this card and want to continue to play with it. So let’s see how this card was made. 
1. I started out with a 2 x 2 inch pattern paper which was cut from all four corners till the center of the piece.



2. I created a pinwheel, by bringing one corner of every piece and sticking it to the centre. You can also refer to this easy pictorial representation. 


. 3. To finish the pinwheel, I added a button with a pearl embellishment from my stash.

4. To make the card, I chose A2 size pre-folder card base and two additional patterned papers which would coordinate with my pinwheel. The pattern paper was cut 1/4" smaller than the card base.


5. I created a slot for the pinwheel but cutting out the paper with rounded ends. To the finished pinwheel, I added some double sided foam tape and adhered that to a 1 rupee coin. On top of this, I added another piece of double sided foam tape. 

6. The pinwheel with the foam tape side up was adjusted in between the slot and the second 1 rupee coin was adhered on top which made a perfect sandwich for the pinwheel.

7. The sentiment "Happy Day" was stamped in black ink prior to adding it to the base of the card and a quick array of sequins was added for the charm.This was adhered to the card base by loads of foam tape to give dimension.

Welcome Baby - Card

Hello crafters!
This is Hussena here to share my inspiration card for our current challenge- Kids Play. I have gone with a new born baby card and kept my sentiment general so that this card would work both for a baby girl or a baby boy.
I have created a layered, embossed card on a kraft color base and used some pretty gold glitter tape to add that bit of shine to my project. The leaves are cut from that glitter tape. What I did was, I adhered the tape on a plain white cardstock and then ran it through my Big Shot with the leaf die. Worked like magic :D

 A close-up of the flower clicked in natural daylight. Looks gorgeous in real life!

I have dry embossed the side panel of the card on the right side and sponged in white pigment ink over it to highlight the embossed design and on the left side, I have stuck a DCWV dotted pattern paper and die-cut the flower using watercolor paper and colored it with Peacock Feathers Distress ink by heavily spraying it with water. Even the side die-cut lace has been colored using  Peacock Feathers Distress ink.
The baby pram is stamped, die-cut and the sentiment has been heat-embossed using Ranger Super Fine Gold embossing powder.
