Hello, Good Morning and a big big welcome to a brand new month - A month dedicated to Love. I am so so excited to be celebrating Valentine's Day and my first anniversary this month!!! I didn't even realise how a whole year just whopped past!
So anyway, in the spirit of this celebration, this fortnight's challenge is...
Challenge #25 - Oh So LOVE-ly!
Challenge #25 - Qualification Guidelines
{General Guidelines here}
- Create any project - a card, layout, altered item, mixed media canvas, album, etc.
- The theme of the project should be LOVE. So it could be something from you to your partner/spouse or from you to a couple that you know. I love you, Happy Valentine's Day, Happy Anniversary, I miss you, Happy Married Life, etc. are the kind of sentiments you can work with.
- You must use Patterned Papers!!!
That's about it!!! And here's what the winner of this challenge will get!!
This Gorgeous 6x6 Paper Pad from American Crafts
And some Studio Calico Wood Veneers! :D :D
So let's get started with what I've made for this challenge.
I decided to make a box card because a friend wanted it for her parents' 25th Wedding Anniversary
and all my ideas kind of exploded on this one box alone!! :P :P
PICTURE HEAVE POST!

I first picked my Patterned Papers and here they are..
(I ended up using the design on the reverse of the Striped 6x6 Paper from MME's Lost & Found Two - Breeze)
Anyhooo... I decided that I wanted the Box to day Happy 25th Anniversary and that would cover three sides of the box. But what about the fourth? I let it say 25th too so that no matter what direction the box was turned in, it would have 25th in between the two words.
I printed the words 'Happy' and 'Anniversary' directly on the Fashion District PP
and Quilled some swirls around it, before I adhered it on the box.
And now for the magic!! :D :D
Here's a look at the sides of the box.
I have layered the Green 12x12 Sheet from DCWV's Mixed Media Mambi Collection on two sides and Fashion District on the other two sides on White Cardstock.
The box itself, is made of Craft Cardstock.
Side 1 - Happy
Side 2 - 25th
I decided to do some Micro-Quilling on this.. something that has been a craze for me of late. :D
Side 4 - The Other 25th
Side 3 - Anniversary.
The view of the box from all four corners. :)
I did some heavy duty Quilling on this box and the lid was Quilling-heavy too!!!
I made one Large Royal Flower, two smaller Malaysian Flowers, some swirls, some leaves and some of those hanging thingys (I don't know what they're called! :P) and loved the end result!!!!
For the top and the sides of the Lid, I have used one of the papers from MME's Lost & Found Collection and distressed the edges with Antique Lenin & Tea Dye Distress Inks (My favourite combo!)
Here's what the box inside looks like!
I did loads of Quilling on the inside as well.
Let's start with the cake.
The Green icing is the Mixed Media Mambi Sheet and the cake tiers are Craft Cardstock. I added some pearls and some Quilled Rosses made out of 3mm Qulling Strips on my cake! :D
Two sides on the inside of the box had pouches to hold tags. For the background I used the 6x6 MME Lost & Found Sheet (that I said I turned over.) For the pouch I have used a sheet from Echo Parks This & That Charming 6x6 paper pad.
I cut out the tags using the Large Labels Die from Spellbinders, distressed the tags and the pouch with Antique Lenin & Tea Dye.
For some more interest, I added a little bit of Quilling on the pouch too! :)
The other two sides had photos. I used a 12x12 sheet from the DCWV's My Sunshine Paper Pad and distressed that as well. I cut the photos in a c using my Spellbinder's Circle Die and made a simple flower arrangement around both the photos.
Phew!!! That was a lot of work, writing the post, I mean! :P
I loved making the box!!!
I would sacrifice two whole nights of sleep to make something like this again. ;)
Sooooo I hope this inspired you guys and you'll make something stunning for us to drop our jaws!!!
Go on, get your craft supplies out and start making something pretty for your loved ones!! :D
Before that, here is the list of products I used for this Box...
Happy Weekend!
