Welcoming our design team 2016 - Nikita Azad

Hello all,

As promised, we are back after a much needed year-end break and hope you all are refreshed with the new year too!

Our design team for 2015 has signed off with a beautiful post on each of their fab projects last month. I take this opportunity to thank Kripa, Manu, Tanvi, Neha and Dolly. What a lovely tram you have been and we are humbled to have you all to share your talent and creativity with us. We will miss you!

With goodbyes, we also now welcome a new team with new enthusiasm for Jan- June 2016.

Our first designer is well known to most as she was also a part of the very first Lulupu DT team. Please welcome Nikita Azad from Infinite Emotions

Nikita is a fabulous Crafter and an aspiring novelist. We love her classy and neat projects with spunk! Her Quilling projects are totally out of this world and her colour sense is pretty mindblowing too. She will also be our Blog Co-ordinator, helping me ensure a smooth and fun bloggin experience for the rest of Lulupu's Design Team. Over to Nikita for more....

Hi, everyone!

Nikita here and I am so, so, so glad to be back. Lulupu feels like home :)

Let me tell you a bit about myself (If you know this already, please feel free to skip this part :P)

I live in Mumbai, India with my husband. I was studying to be a Chartered Accountant (CA) and it was during my internship that I realised that I am a creative person and that a 10-hours-a-day desk job was not for me. At heart, I am a writer and later, while I was still studying, I discovered, a crafter too.

My foray into paper crafting happened when I bought a Quilling Kit at a craft store in the local mall. Back then - almost five and a half years ago - when I was hiding in my 'study room' doing everything but studying, I fell in love with paper strips and the amazing patterns that could be created by just rolling and pinching them.

When I was browsing blogs for tips, techniques and tutorials, I landed in this whole new world of card-making and scrapbook-ing. Since then, there has been no looking back. And even though I do make cards, scrapbooks and other crafty paper goodies, Quilling has been my favourite part of crafting and I try to incorporate that in almost everything I male.

Other than crafting, I am currently working on 1 finished and 3 unfinished novel drafts, and a couple of short stories, and I blog about my crafty creations here.

My all-time favourite three projects are...

1.
I made this page as a part of Lulupu's Sparkle with Prima Blog Hop in 2014 along with two more pages that you can see here.

2.
This scrapbook page (a part of 4 other pages) I made for a friend.

3.
This Micro-Quilled 12x12 Page with Henna Designs that I made for my mom's 50th birthday (that was two years ago) but still haven't given it to her because I haven't gotten it framed yet :P

That's all from me for now. I'll be back soon with a project and a video. Stay tuned till Thursday! You'll meet the next DT Member then!

Happy New Year and Happy Crafting!

Love,
Nikita.
