Altered Spool / Picture Tutorial

Hello Everyone,
Its Roshni here and today for the February Challenge  Hearts & Arrows I have made a 3D project. I received this Needle & Thread Kaisercraft Paper Pad in my DT kit and inspired by this awesome paper pack I made a spool. It was an ideal valentine gift for my mom as she loves stitching. I used this pretty pattern paper to cover the spool and fussy cut a lot of elements from the paper pack to decorate it..... since the theme for the February Challenge was hearts I also used another paper from My Golden Garden Paper Pad  that was also a part of my DT kit.. sharing the tutorial followed by a few pictures of my project.

Here is a step by step tutorial for making the spool-
Step 1) cut a piece of cardstock measuring 8’’X5.75’’
Step2) score on the 5.75’’ side at .75’’ and then at 5’’

Step3) cut slits till the scored line
Step4) on the 8’’ side score on every .75’’
Step5) on the 8’’side mark on 6.75’’ and apply adhesive and make a role
Step6) cut two circle of diameter 3cm and stick it on both ends of the roll to cover the ends

Step7) cut two more circles measuring 3.5’’ and 2.75’’

Step 8) cover the roll and the circles with pattern paper and distress the edges using  vintage photo

Step9) decorate your spool the way you like

Here for the bottom I have used chipboard heart and altered it using glitter , flowers , die                      cuts , metal arrow , lace and pearls.

For the top I have fussy cut a lot of elements from the pattern paper and added more flowers.

Step10)I pierced a hole on the end of the 3.5” circle and hung metal heart and arrow charms

Step11)  Stick the circle and the roll together

and your spool will be ready :)
here are a few more closeup pictures from different angles showing my work

to go with the challenge i added Heart charm, Chipboard heart and also heart print pattern paper, and i have also used two metallic arrows :)
