Introduction to Stamping and a Challenge!

Hey everyone this is Juhi with my first post as a "Lulu Pooh". I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the Team.

I'm sure all of you loved the fun fold cards that we showcased in May.  May also saw Washi Tapes being introduced in the store.....do not miss Nikita's post on quick cards using Washi Tape, the cards are gorgeous and super easy to make!
Well lets move on and see what the month of June has in store......as this post's heading makes it abundantly clear this month's theme is stamping. To spice things up we are also introducing a monthly challenge......there are going to some amazing prizes up for grabs.....so stay tuned.
As this month's theme is stamping we are going feature a series of tutorials covering some fun stamping techniques like Paper Piecing, Rock n Roll, Heat Embossing, Masking, Emboss Resist...
The Lulupu store has a some gorgeous wood mounted and clear stamps at unbelievable (in a good way :P) prices (check them out here and here).
Here's a card I made using the paper piecing stamping technique.
a closer look at the paper piecing (watch the tutorial for details).
Here is video tutorial on the basics of stamping. The tutorial is in two parts the first part is meant for beginners, so if you are new to stamping and want to learn how to stamp with clear and rubber stamps this video is for you. The second part shows the paper piecing technique.
Here's the Introduction to stamping video (sorry for the bad lighting, there was no power at home when I shot this :( ).

This one is the paper piecing tutorial.
And now for the details of this month's challenge. This month's challenge is to make a stamped project (stamped sentiments do not count!)...it can be a card, a layout, a 3-D project, anything with some stamping on it. You have until the end of this month to link up your project.

  1. It is not necessary to use stamps bought from Lulupu.com (though we would love it if you do).
  2. You can link up your creation to a maximum of 8 challenges including this one.
  3. The challenge is open to only Indian nationals.
  4. No Back linking please. We would love to see what you make post this challenge is announced.

And now to the most awaited part.......the prize........can we have some drumroll please........the winner gets to choose any 1 MICIA CPM(medium size) Stamp from our store which shows in stock :), how cool is that! So what are you waiting for start stamping........can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

  5. I see some wonderful cards here. I wanted to know if this is open to Indian nationals residing abroad or is it only for those in India. I live in the u.s & have been following Shruti's cards on scrapbook.com & that is how I discovered her blog & this blog. 10 years back when I went back to India for a year, I could not find much resources in India but am so glad to see a lot coming up now. nice work.

  8. Hi

This is Charu. I submitted two cards. I don't know where to add the description. Like others, I don't have my blog yet. So I will like to describe my cards here in the comment section.

Happy Birthday Card : I used yellow poster board for card. Flowers were stamped using my fingers and thumb. Used water, pencil and Acrylic colors.

Happy Anniversary Card: Again used poster board to make card. I used home made footprints stamp in this card. And I used water color.

    Thanks
